for someone who sells planner stickers for a living, i’m very inconsistent when it comes to actually using a planner myself. i usually find myself switching back and forth mainly between a dated agenda (like the bando one i’m currently using*) or a blank bullet journal. plus i usually need an additional notebook in the mix just for scribbling lists, ideas, & general brain dumping and messy thoughts.

my work/shop life tends to take over whatever planner system i’m using, and i haven’t been great about memory keeping and personal journaling over the past year. (probably because i was super depressed and very creatively blocked.) so this year i’m making it a priority to do some kind of journaling daily.

i spent the first few days of the new year setting up some calendar spreads and such in the first few pages.

this is my lunar calendar in my 2019 bullet journal. 🌸⭐💫🌙 // i tried using a pen to make this spread and messed up horribly! 🙈 so i printed out a galaxy pattern on sticker paper to cover up the failed attempt. then I went on Etsy and found the most beautiful printable 2019 calendar from @jayandemshop (check them out, chic minimalist planner heaven!). I added the moon cycle to the calendar and cut the months apart so i could space them evenly and let the galaxy show through. the celestial stickers are all available in my shop (laceandwhimsy.com) 💞 the butterfly stickers are by @ aerialovely 🦋⭐

☆I'm so happy with how this zodiac calendar bujo spread came together! I used clip art from @ lillestudio to make the round stickers (layered with larger round stickers I made using a galaxy stock photo) + the names of the signs. then i used the "what do the stars say?" sticker sheet from my own shop for the constellations and little accent stars + planets. I also sprinkled a few butterflies by @ aerialovely to fill in some white space and make the pages even more dreamy.

when i sit down to journal, i often start by pulling a tarot card and using it as a journaling prompt. sometimes i’ll just jot down a blurb from biddytarot about the card meaning that resonates with me. if more journaling flows, i go with it. if i’m feeling more visual, i’ll decorate the page or make a collage. what i make or how it turns out isn’t as important as the act itself. journaling helps me process my thoughts and practice mindfulness and gratitude. it’s also a creative outlet. and there’s just something very therapeutic about sticking stuff down on paper.

I’ve been reading Lunar Abundance by @ ezziespencer and was so excited to find this moon cycle printable on her website! It was perfect for my bullet journal. I layered some stickers over top of it to make it feel more like an art journal page. Stickers used in this spread are by @ aerialovely , @dirtyworkdesigns , and my shop .
