inside my bullet journal / 01
for someone who sells planner stickers for a living, i’m very inconsistent when it comes to actually using a planner myself. i usually find myself switching back and forth mainly between a dated agenda (like the bando one i’m currently using*) or a blank bullet journal. plus i usually need an additional notebook in the mix just for scribbling lists, ideas, & general brain dumping and messy thoughts.
my work/shop life tends to take over whatever planner system i’m using, and i haven’t been great about memory keeping and personal journaling over the past year. (probably because i was super depressed and very creatively blocked.) so this year i’m making it a priority to do some kind of journaling daily.
i spent the first few days of the new year setting up some calendar spreads and such in the first few pages.
when i sit down to journal, i often start by pulling a tarot card and using it as a journaling prompt. sometimes i’ll just jot down a blurb from biddytarot about the card meaning that resonates with me. if more journaling flows, i go with it. if i’m feeling more visual, i’ll decorate the page or make a collage. what i make or how it turns out isn’t as important as the act itself. journaling helps me process my thoughts and practice mindfulness and gratitude. it’s also a creative outlet. and there’s just something very therapeutic about sticking stuff down on paper.
