Photo Journal: Universal Orlando
Last week, Chris and I vacationed in Florida. His parents live there half the year so we stayed with them for a few days. They spoiled us with such great food! Definitely one of our more relaxing vacations. We spent the last two nights of our trip at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.
After checking into our hotel near Universal, we headed over to explore Universal's Citywalk, which has lots of restaurants, shops, and a cinema.
I'm a sucker for neon signs. Also, it was pretty overcast when I took this picture, but I brightened up the sky with AColorStory photo editing app, which I am in love with.
The Blues Brothers show was high on my list of attractions to hit, so it worked out perfectly we stumbled upon that area moments before the next show was about to start. I've been such a fan of The Blues Brothers my whole life. I watched that movie with my dad when I was wayyy too young. I turned out okay, so it's all good... but maybe that's why I like saying the F word so much?
The attention to detail with the empty packs of Marlboro packages on the dash was just too much! The actors really had Jake and Elwood's mannerisms down. No detail was lost on this super-fan.
Jake pulled me up during the show to dance!! 🙌🎉
Next stop, Springfield. Chris is such a huge Simpsons fan (and I'm quickly becoming one!!) so I was very excited for us to explore the Springfield section of the park. The Krustyland ride was so well done.
No visit to Springfield is complete without a Duff beer at Moe's Tavern.
And of course... *drumroll* HARRY POTTER WORLD
We had visited Universal in 2011 not too long after the Harry Potter attractions first opened in the Islands of Adventure theme park. Since our last visit, they opened a whole separate Diagon Alley section in the main Universal Studios theme park. It. was. glorious.
...but also really crowded. We didn't do any of the rides. Honestly, just walking around soaking it all in was plenty for this little Potterhead.
As if their Butterbeer recipe wasn't already amazing enough, they now offer it WARM. Try it warm, trust me. Has anyone found a good copycat recipe for Butterbeer? Send those links my way.
Since we had tickets for both parks, we were able to actually take the Hogwarts Express to the other side of the park to see the Hogsmeade & Hogwarts attractions!!!
Hogsmeade is snow covered year round. How? Magic, duh.
It's so beautiful! *single tear*
