Though I claimed the entire three day weekend as "my birthday weekend," today is my actual birthday. Luckily, my birthday fell on Labor Day this year so I didn't have to go to work.
Saturday night I went to one of my favorite restaurants with two of my favorite people. My husband Chris and my best friend Ivy took me to The Melting Pot for fondue! Cheese fondue is one of the greatest concepts known to mankind. In my opinion anyway.
Chris gave me my presents early so I could have the long weekend to enjoy them. He picked a few new Funko Pop vinyl figures for my collection: Marvel's Agent Peggy Carter and Game of Thrones' Brienne and The Hound... two of my favorite characters. Chris also bought me a Wacom tablet + stylus to use with Photoshop. (That's how I drew the handwriting doodle on the first image in this post.) Such great gifts!
On Sunday, Ivy and I went shopping at Bloom to spend our gift cards (We recently modeled for Bloom!). I picked up a few treasures: A vanity tray, a monogram locket, and a gorgeous ring. I could spend hours looking through that shop; so much to take in and difficult choices to be made!
Ivy and I were so excited to see ourselves on the latest promotional postcard for Bloom! We had recently modeled in a photoshoot, but only had time to take a few photos of us together; most were individual shots. I'm so glad that one of our photos together ended up being postcard-worthy.
After shopping at Bloom, we stopped by Lush.
I exercised immense self control. Just picked up a couple things and traded in my recyclable Lush pots for a Fresh Face Mask. I used my new Mango Bath Melt this morning while taking a little beach themed birthday bath.
This afternoon, Chris and I went over to his parents' house for my birthday dinner. Chris' mom makes the best spaghetti and meatballs. It's become a birthday tradition.
So many new treasures! Ivy gave me a peach necklace and peach picture frame. Ivy also made me an adorable card that says "You are a beautiful cupcake in a world full of muffins" and had the sweetest note inside (but it's private!).
Chris's brother and his girlfriend got me the "Hello Gorgeous" gift set from Lush. (She follows me on Instagram and was clued in to my slight obsession with all things Lush.) The set has quite a few products I haven't tried before so I'm really excited to use them. The box they came in is so cute and will be used to store odds and ends long after the bath bombs have dissolved.
I had such a great birthday and felt so loved. Thanks for all the texts, tweets, and Facebook birthday wishes!
